Tax Partner | CPA

Location: Arlington, TX
Job Type: Full time, hybrid
Compensation: Competitive salary, up to $250,000 plus bonus

At this level, the title is not enough.

You may already be leading clients, guiding teams, solving the difficult issues, and carrying a significant share of the commercial responsibility.

The real question is what all of that is building toward.

This opportunity is for a Senior Manager, Director, or current Partner who wants a genuine route to ownership and a meaningful voice in the future of a firm.

An established independent CPA firm in Arlington is looking for a senior tax leader who can take ownership of key client relationships, support the team, and help shape the next stage of the practice.

The firm has around 15 to 20 staff, a strong local reputation, and an established client base across Arlington and the surrounding area.

Most importantly, the route to equity is intended to be clear, structured, and achievable.

Not a conversation that gets delayed every year.

Not a title with no real stake attached.

The client base

The firm works with a balanced mix of individuals and privately owned businesses.

The tax work includes 1040 clients, partnerships, corporations, and broader planning and advisory matters.

Many client relationships are long standing, creating the opportunity to move beyond annual compliance and become a trusted adviser.

There is enough technical and commercial variety to keep the work interesting, while still allowing you to build deep relationships with the people behind the businesses.

What you will be doing

Review and sign off more complex tax work across individuals and businesses

Lead key client relationships and act as a senior trusted adviser

Identify planning opportunities and guide clients through more complex decisions

Support, coach, and develop the tax team

Help shape workflow, technical standards, and the overall client experience

Work closely with the existing leadership group on the future direction of the firm

Contribute to growth through relationships, referrals, and commercial insight

Build toward equity based on performance, contribution, and long term fit

What the firm is looking for

A CPA with strong tax leadership experience in public accounting

Someone currently operating at Senior Manager, Director, or Partner level

Confidence across both individual and business tax clients

A credible client leader who can build trust and handle senior relationships

Someone comfortable leading from the front while still supporting the wider team

A commercially aware professional who understands how strong client service supports growth

Someone genuinely interested in ownership, influence, and long term responsibility

Existing client relationships or a strong professional network would be welcomed, but they are not the only measure of potential.

Who this role will suit

This opportunity will suit someone who is already doing much of the work expected at Partner level but does not yet have the ownership, influence, or financial upside to match.

It may also suit a current Partner who wants a more visible role in a smaller independent firm, where decisions can be made quickly and individual contribution is easier to see.
