Full Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE

An established litigation practice is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant / Paralegal to independently manage an attorney's litigation docket across multiple jurisdictions. This is a substantive, hands-on position, not an entry-level one. The right person can run a calendar, own case deadlines, e-file with confidence in state and federal courts, and keep matters moving from intake through resolution with minimal supervision.

Please note: at least 2 years of hands-on, active litigation experience is required. Applications without demonstrable litigation experience will not be considered.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Own and maintain the litigation docket, independently calendaring hearings, deadlines, and filing dates, and tracking all case events so nothing is missed.

- E-file documents in state and federal courts, including eFileTexas, New Mexico and Arizona state systems, and PACER / CM-ECF.

- Monitor and meet all case-related deadlines, taking ownership of accurate and timely completion.

- Assist in drafting motions, orders, discovery requests and responses, and related litigation documents for attorney review.

- Organize case files, exhibits, and supporting materials, and help the attorney prepare for hearings and trials.

- Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and opposing counsel.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in an active litigation capacity as a legal secretary, legal assistant, or paralegal. Three or more years preferred.

- Proficiency with electronic filing in Texas state courts (eFileTexas) is mandatory.

- Proficiency with federal e-filing (PACER / CM-ECF) is mandatory.

- Demonstrated ability to manage a docket and calendar deadlines independently and accurately.

- Strong written and verbal communication and close attention to detail.

- Highly organized and dependable, able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

PREFERRED

- Experience e-filing in New Mexico and / or Arizona state courts.

- Experience drafting litigation documents with minimal supervision.

- A paralegal certificate is welcome but not required. Demonstrated proficiency is what matters.

POSITION DETAILS

- Employment type: Full-time.

- Location: On-site. No remote or hybrid option.

- Compensation: Depends on experience, commensurate with qualifications.
