Tax Manager | $140,000 – $170,000 | San Rafael, CA (Hybrid)

This San Rafael CPA firm is looking for a Tax Manager to lead a diverse client mix, including high-net-worth individuals, partnerships, trusts, and real estate, while enjoying a flexible hybrid setup.

The firm values professionalism, clarity, and thoughtful management of busy season. They give their team real responsibility, respect your judgment, and empower you to make decisions that positively impact clients and staff alike.

This role combines technical depth with people leadership. You’ll review work, mentor staff, handle complex client matters, and act as a steady presence for both clients and junior team members. The focus is on improving quality and efficiency, not micromanaging.

What you’ll actually be doing:

Reviewing and supervising federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts, and other entities
Supporting and mentoring staff and seniors, acting as a technical and professional resource
Handling complex tax questions with confidence
Collaborating with managers and partners on planning and workflow
Helping maintain high standards while keeping the process efficient
