Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our Danbury, CT Office. In this vital role, you will manage a variety of accounting functions to ensure accurate financial record-keeping and compliance with industry standards. Your expertise will support the organization’s financial health by providing clarity through precise bookkeeping, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. Responsibilities

Maintain and update financial records using accounting software such as Unanet, InFocus, Clearview..
Prepare and record journal entries accurately, ensuring proper debits and credits in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Perform bank reconciliations and account analysis to verify the accuracy of financial data.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently, ensuring timely payments and collections.
Conduct balance sheet reconciliation regularly to uphold data integrity across all financial statements.
Support budgeting activities by providing detailed account analysis and financial insights for decision-making.
Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and other documentation necessary for internal review or external audits.
Handle governmental accounting requirements when applicable, ensuring adherence to relevant standards.
Maintain meticulous records of all transactions, including bank transactions, journal entries, and account reconciliations.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Economics or a related field with 5 + years’ of work experience as a bookkeeper.
Proven experience working as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role with a focus on corporate or non-profit accounting.
Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Unanet, InFocus, Clearview is preferred.
Knowledge of GAAP standards and double-entry bookkeeping principles is essential.
Demonstrated ability to perform bank reconciliations, general ledger accounting, and account analysis accurately.
Excellent understanding of financial concepts, including debits & credits, journal entries, and financial report writing.
Experience managing accounts payable/receivable workflows, along with payroll processing, is highly desirable.
Proficient in Microsoft Suite, with strong Excel skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Strong analytical skills with a focus on accuracy in financial reporting.
Exceptional Client Relations skills with our Clients/Vendors/Visitors and internal departments
