POSITION TITLE: Clinical Supervisor (Team Leader) - Per Diem

PROGRAM: Mobile Crisis Intervention Services

Mobile Crisis Intervention Services (MCIS) provides home and community-based responses to children and youth experiencing a behavioral or psychiatric crisis. Clinicians within Mobile Crisis have the following responsibilities, not limited to; evaluation and assessment; home & community-based services; outreach; case and care management; individual and family therapies; crisis intervention; record keeping; collaboration with other professionals, team members and related community services (including consultation and/or community and/or school placements). Mobile Crisis services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days per year and are available throughout the greater Waterbury, Danbury and Torrington regions (42 town catchment area). All staff are required to work their assigned schedule but may be asked to shift/alter this in response to high workflow time periods.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Clinical Supervisor (Team Leader) provides direct service and day to day management (staff supervision and assists in program development and implementation) of Mobile Crisis Intervention Services for greater Waterbury, Danbury, and Torrington regions, as designated by the project leadership. The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing, supervising, and monitoring the clinical work of the MCIS staff as they provide direct crisis support services with children, adolescents, and their families. The Clinical Supervisor will be responsible for managing case flow and assignment from 211, crisis support and disposition, supervision, data tracking, documentation, coordination of care, and collaboration with community partners, and other tasks. The supervisor will work in conjunction with the management team to ensure that the staff meet programmatic metrics and outcomes around response time, mobility, and disposition as well as other management tasks. Clinical Supervisors are assigned a primary shift coverage but may be required to cover other time periods as mobile crisis services are provided 24/7/365 or may be required to do home visits, assessments or crisis evaluations as needed by workflow. Supervisor is assigned to carry a company provided smartphone and responds to all calls for assistance either by telephone or in person (as clinically indicated).

SUPERVISION: Supervised by: Project Coordinator and/or designee

Supervises: Staff and interns as designated by Supervisor.

Responsibilities of the Position:

To provide clinical oversight and supervision to mobile crisis staff providing crisis response in homes, schools, and communities that we serve.
To implement the Mobile Crisis model of intervention according to statewide standards with high quality of clinical care, mobility, response time and outcomes.
To consult with clinicians on all case disposition around safety, risk assessment and support needed to deescalate or reduce risk.
To supervise (with the management team) the day-to-day activities of assigned staff/interns and assist in the development and implementation of the Mobile Crisis services for greater Waterbury, Danbury, and Torrington areas.
To participate in the MCIS management team around tasks associated with program implementation, training, onboarding, data collection/verification/analysis and documentation.
To review and approve all clinical documentation for staff to ensure adherence with corporate compliance standards for diagnostic evaluations, treatment plans, safety and discharge/disposition plans, including review of clinical content, formulation and recommendations within the appropriate timelines.
To collaborate with local hospital emergency department staff around the development of protocol that promote partnership and quick disposition of high need youth who are on overstays in the Emergency Department or inpatient units or at risk of overstays; are at risk for placement or are currently placed in a Crisis Stabilization Program, Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) or other behavioral health congregate settings.
To cover and support staff and families with home visits, assessments and/or consultation during high workflow periods, ensuring families and staff have needs met during all MCIS service times
To support the implementation of monthly staff meetings and training opportunities for all staff.
To work professionally and in tandem with a variety of community entities including but not limited to parents, schools, police, Emergency Department staff, external mental health providers, DCF, etc.
To participate in local community outreach, education and networking with schools, agencies, and towns to disseminate MCIS information, support crisis planning and assist with connecting families in need. These events may occur on regular workdays, evenings or weekends.
To participate in management responses to community crisis as defined by agency emergency response protocol.
To complete other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Project Coordinator, Director, or agency Leaders.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have the ability to maintain the utmost confidentiality of both agency and client matters. Must understand and be able to display the clinical knowledge and expertise necessary to perform crisis intervention. Must have knowledge of cultural diversity and be capable of displaying cultural competency to the populations served by the program. Must be able to display knowledge and expertise in clinical theory and practice as it relates to the populations served by Wellmore. Must be capable of working as a part of a team and be able to effectively communicate with both families and professionals (in writing and verbally). Working knowledge of the greater Waterbury, Danbury or Torrington regions is strongly desired. Bi-lingual (Spanish-English) preferred.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Master’s degree in marriage and family therapy/social work/counseling and a valid Connecticut license as a LMFT, LCSW, LPC or a Doctorate in psychology and a Connecticut license as a psychologist is required. Two years’ post graduate clinical experience working with children, adolescents or families is required; four years’ experience is preferred. Experience with supervision is required; experience with training/onboarding and supportive data management/analysis is preferred. Experience in family therapies and/or training in family systems theory and practice are also preferred.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION:

The candidate must have an active CT license as a mental health provider (ie: LCSW, LMFT, LPC).

Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and valid auto insurance.
