Fooq’s is a modern American-Middle Eastern restaurant, inspired by the vibrant spirit of mezze-style dining. Fooq’s is part of We All Gotta Eat!, a multi-unit, multi-concept restaurant group, with locations in NYC, Miami and soon Los Angeles. Our dynamic group includes Michelin Star locations Sushi Noz and Noz 17 & Noz Market Omakase restaurants and Chez Fifi, a French bistro with Basque influence on the Upper East Side of NYC. Our Miami restaurants include Eleventh Street Pizza locations and Fooq’s Little River.

About the Role:

The Captain is a floor leader responsible for overseeing assigned sections, supporting servers, and ensuring consistent, high level service throughout the guest experience. Acting as a bridge between management, the kitchen, and the service team, the Captain maintains pacing, quality, and guest satisfaction during service.

Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage assigned floor sections to ensure smooth and consistent service
Support servers with table maintenance, guest needs, and service execution
Serve as the main point of contact for guests within assigned sections
Anticipate guest needs and resolve service issues quickly and professionally
Coordinate with kitchen and management to manage pacing and course flow
Ensure proper menu knowledge and service standards are upheld by the team
Assist with VIP guests and special requests as directed by management
Monitor table turns, guest satisfaction, and service timing
Lead by example with professionalism, urgency, and attention to detail
Support training and coaching of servers and support staff during service
Communicate clearly with hosts, bartenders, servers / servers assistants and kitchen team to maintain flow

Qualifications:

3 plus years of experience in a high volume or fine dining service environment
Previous experience as a Captain, Lead Server, or Senior Server preferred
Strong understanding of service standards, table pacing, and guest flow
Excellent communication and problem solving skills
Ability to lead a section and support a team under pressure
Strong guest service instincts with attention to detail
Calm, confident presence on the floor
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast paced environment
Flexible schedule with weekend and holiday availability
Elevated guest service instincts and leadership presence
Clear communicator with a talent for pacing and prioritization
Strategic mindset with a calm, polished demeanor
Excellent memory for faces, names, and guest preferences
Comfort in a high-volume/fast-paced environment

Physical Requirements:

Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, listening and hearing ability, and visual acuity.
Ability to lift and carry items weighing 35 pounds on a regular basis.
Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the property. Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.
Climbing steps regularly.
