Full Job Description

Position Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing core accounting functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and supporting financial reporting processes. Your expertise will help maintain accurate financial records, facilitate month-end close activities, and contribute to the overall financial health of the Club. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional eager to develop their accounting skills within a collaborative environment.

Essential Functions

· Perform daily accounting activities which include journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations.

· Assist with monthly financial close processes.

· Prepare and post journal entries and maintain supporting documentation.

· Review financial transactions for accuracy and proper account coding.

· Maintain accurate and organized accounting records in accordance with company policies and applicable accounting principles.

· High level of integrity and confidentiality of financial information.

· Ensure compliance with company accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.

· Assist with special accounting projects and other duties as assigned.

Intellectual Demands:

· Five or more years of hands-on-accounting experience.

· Familiarity with Jonas Encore or other equivalent accounting software program(s).

· Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel and Outlook.

· Strong knowledge of journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations.

· Understanding of GAAP accounting standards.

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced, small team environment and remain flexible and responsive.

· Good judgement with sound decision making skills.

· Commitment to excellence and high standards.

Environmental Demands:

The work is performed indoors, at a desk, in an office environment.

Physical Demands:

The majority of the job requires sitting for extended periods of time at a desk and time in front of a computer. In performance of the duties and responsibilities of this job an employee will be required to talk and/or hear. There also may be occasional walking, standing, bending, lifting, and kneeling.
