Overview

Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting our clinical operations. In this energetic position, you will assist dentists during procedures, manage patient flow, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and clinical confidentiality. Your expertise will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable and cared for from start to finish. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in general dentistry, while working with state-of-the-art dental technology.

Responsibilities

Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, supplies, and equipment ensuring sterilization procedures are followed according to infection prevention management policies
Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry with chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques
Take and develop dental x-rays and medical imaging such as 3D scans while maintaining strict adherence to dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques
Manage patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; ensure accurate documentation of medical records and dental terminology
Collect vital signs and medical documentation to support comprehensive patient management and care plans
Educate patients on oral health practices, post-procedure care, and treatment options while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies
Support the dental reception team by managing patient scheduling, answering inquiries, and coordinating appointments with patient management software
Help hygiene with charting and turning over rooms when time permits

Skills

Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, dental instrument processing, and infection control practices
Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation
Knowledge of dental terminology, dental equipment operation, and medical terminology relevant to general dentistry and pediatrics
Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality
Familiarity with dental sterilization procedures, infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control expertise
Strong understanding of anatomy knowledge related to oral structures and oral surgery procedures
Excellent communication skills for patient care support and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team
