Full Job Description

Island Communities is hiring a detail oriented Accounts Payable Coordinator to join our team. The Accounts Payable Coordinator will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable function. This role involves processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely payments to vendors. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Island Communities operates 64 manufactured housing communities and RV parks totaling in FL, OH, IN, KY, WV & NC. We are excitingly one of the fastest-growing MH/RV property management companies in FL. We pride ourselves on providing safe and affordable housing as well as enabling our residents to achieve financial independence through manufactured homeownership.

Your job will include:

Process and code invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
Maintain vendor records and ensure all documentation is complete and up-to-date.
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Prepare and process electronic transfers, payments, and check runs.
Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up-to-date.
Assist with month-end closing activities, including accruals and account reconciliations.
Communicate with vendors and internal departments to resolve payment issues and answer queries.
Assist in the preparation of financial reports related to accounts payable.
Support audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries.

Experience and Skills Required:

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in accounts payable or a related accounting role.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of general accounting principles and practices.
