Position Summary
The Inside Sales Executive is responsible for developing revenue within an assigned portfolio of existing and prospective customers.
This is a proactive sales position—not a traditional customer service or order-entry role. The Inside Sales Executive will build relationships, uncover business needs, reactivate dormant and underdeveloped accounts, generate new opportunities, and introduce customers to the complete range of PROOF. capabilities.
The ideal candidate is curious, organized, comfortable initiating conversations, and motivated by measurable growth. This individual must be able to manage a high volume of customer relationships while maintaining consistent follow-up, accurate opportunity tracking, and a consultative customer experience.
Primary Responsibilities
Account Development and Growth
- Develop and execute growth plans for an assigned portfolio of existing, inactive, and prospective customers.
- Reengage dormant and declining accounts to understand what has changed and identify opportunities to win back business.
- Expand current customer relationships by introducing relevant PROOF. products, services, and capabilities.
- Identify cross-selling opportunities across commercial print, large format, packaging, creative, promotional products, apparel, direct mail, digital storefronts, warehousing, kitting, fulfillment, and distribution.
- Build relationships with multiple contacts and decision-makers within customer organizations.
- Conduct scheduled account reviews to understand customer priorities, upcoming initiatives, challenges, and purchasing cycles.
- Maintain a consistent pipeline of qualified opportunities aligned with individual and company revenue goals.
New Business Development
- Conduct proactive outbound outreach through phone, email, social platforms, marketing campaigns, referrals, and targeted prospecting.
- Research prospective organizations and identify opportunities where PROOF. can create meaningful value.
- Qualify inbound leads and marketing-generated opportunities quickly and professionally.
- Schedule discovery conversations, capability presentations, and appropriate follow-up meetings.
- Convert qualified prospects into active customers and develop them into sustainable, repeatable accounts.
- Partner with Sales Executives and Key Account Managers when an opportunity grows in size, complexity, or strategic importance.
Consultative Selling
- Lead discovery conversations focused on the customer’s business objectives rather than simply responding to individual print requests.
- Ask thoughtful questions to understand project requirements, purchasing behavior, pain points, timing, budget, and decision criteria.
- Translate customer needs into clear internal requests for estimating, production, creative, sourcing, and fulfillment teams.
- Present recommendations that improve efficiency, consistency, speed, brand execution, or total program value.
- Communicate PROOF.’s capabilities and value proposition clearly and confidently.
- Follow proposals and quotations through decision, providing disciplined and timely follow-up.
Pipeline and CRM Management
- Maintain accurate customer, contact, activity, opportunity, and forecasting information within the company’s CRM and sales systems.
- Document meaningful customer conversations, commitments, next steps, and account intelligence.
- Manage follow-up activities with consistency and urgency.
- Monitor account activity to identify growth, decline, inactivity, and emerging opportunities.
- Provide reliable weekly forecasts and pipeline updates to sales leadership.
- Participate in sales meetings, account reviews, training, and business-development initiatives.
Internal Collaboration
- Work closely with estimating, project management, customer service, production, sourcing, creative, marketing, fulfillment, and finance.
- Ensure customer expectations and internal requirements are clearly communicated during the sales-to-execution handoff.
- Serve as the commercial owner of the customer relationship while partnering with operational teams to support successful delivery.
- Escalate customer risks, service concerns, and barriers to growth promptly.
- Share customer and market insights that can improve PROOF.’s services, processes, and go-to-market strategy.

What This Role Is—and Is Not

The role is not intended to become the primary owner of production coordination, estimating, billing resolution, order entry, or day-to-day project management. Those responsibilities are supported through PROOF.’s operational teams so the Inside Sales Executive can remain focused on customer relationships and growth.
Ideal Candidate
You will thrive in this role if you enjoy creating momentum. You are comfortable picking up the phone, asking thoughtful questions, and turning an initial conversation into a meaningful business opportunity.
You do not wait for customers to tell you exactly what they need. You seek to understand their business, recognize opportunities they may not yet see, and connect them with the right capabilities and resources.
You are energized by building relationships, growing accounts, winning business, and being part of a company creating something larger than any one legacy organization.
Why Join PROOF.
