Job Type: Permanent
Location: Detroit, MI
Work Schedule: Hybrid (4 days in office initially during training, then transitions to 3 days in office / 2 remote)
Hours: Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm
Compensation: $60,000 – $75,000

Sanford Rose is seeking a Legal Billing Specialist for a highly respected and growing law firm in the Detroit area. This opportunity is ideal for a legal billing professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and enjoys working closely with attorneys, clients, and internal teams. The organization is continuing to expand due to increased attorney headcount and client growth, creating strong long-term stability and advancement potential within the billing department.

Responsibilities:

Manage full-cycle legal billing for assigned attorneys and client accounts
Generate, review, edit, and finalize prebills and invoices accurately and timely
Process and monitor electronic billing submissions through multiple e-billing platforms
Maintain billing guideline compliance and resolve billing discrepancies or rejected invoices
Support attorney billing inquiries, reporting requests, and aging analysis
Upload and maintain timekeeper rates, client matter setups, and billing records within legal billing systems
Collaborate cross-functionally with attorneys, accounting, and administrative teams to support billing operations
Maintain organized billing documentation and support additional billing projects as needed

Qualifications:

3+ years of legal billing experience within a law firm environment
Experience with Aderant OR Elite 3E AND BillBlast REQUIRED
Knowledge of electronic billing processes and legal billing compliance standards
Strong attention to detail, professionalism, and communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
Must be open to overtime during peak billing periods (Q1 & Q4)
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills within high-volume billing environments
