Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, performing dental cleanings, and assisting with various clinical procedures. This role offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment utilizing advanced dental technology and emphasizing patient education and comfort. Experience with EMR systems, infection control, and digital dental workflows. The position requires a dedicated and loyal person that truly cares about the patient's oral health.

Responsibilities

Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing to maintain optimal oral health.
Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review.
Assist dentists during procedures such as restorations, extractions, and other general dentistry treatments.
Take and develop medical imaging, including X-rays, CBCT and TMJ assessments.
Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices, treatment plans, and preventive care.
Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records using EMR systems like Eaglesoft. Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed to prevent cross-contamination.
Review medical records for completeness and accuracy prior to procedures.
Support all general dentistry cases with specialized cosmentic nowledge and gentle chairside assisting.
Manage patient comfort and address concerns related to dental terminology or procedures using effective communication skills.
Uphold HIPAA compliance by safeguarding patient confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications

Valid Dental Hygienist license in accordance with state regulations.
Proven experience in dental office settings; experience with dental clinic operations preferred.
Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with EMR systems is a plus.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
Experience in general dentistry and four-handed dentistry is desirable.
Ability to perform dental imaging accurately while maintaining safety standards.
Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient populations.
Knowledge of dental coding, documentation review, and medical terminology relevant to dental practice.
Ability to work effectively within a team environment while managing multiple responsibilities efficiently.
