Full Job Description

Lotte Hotel Guam is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced Accounting Supervisor to support and oversee the daily financial operations of the hotel. The Accounting Supervisor will assist in ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective internal controls, timely month-end closing, and compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.

The successful candidate will provide leadership and guidance to the Finance team while working closely with other hotel departments to maintain accurate financial records and support the hotel's overall financial performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, income audit, and bank reconciliations.
Review and verify journal entries, supporting documentation, account reconciliations, and financial transactions.
Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
Prepare and review financial reports, schedules, and account analyses.
Assist in the preparation of accurate financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
Monitor hotel revenues, expenses, cash transactions, and other financial activities for accuracy and completeness.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Monitor internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and information.
Review accounts payable and accounts receivable activities to ensure timely and accurate processing.
Assist with cash management, bank reconciliations, and daily financial reporting.
Identify accounting discrepancies and work with appropriate departments to resolve issues.
Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and supporting documentation.
Supervise, train, and develop accounting staff to ensure consistent and efficient work performance.
Work closely with hotel leadership and other departments to provide financial information and support operational decision-making.
Maintain confidentiality of financial information and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive company information.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Finance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably within a hotel or hospitality environment.
Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and financial reporting.
Experience with general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and journal entries.
Experience with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Experience with hotel accounting systems, ERP systems, or financial management software preferred.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with employees and management across various hotel departments.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous accounting experience in a hotel environment
Experience with hotel financial systems and/or accounting software.
Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and applicable federal and Guam regulatory requirements.
Experience supporting financial, tax, or external audits.
Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or Finance.
CPA, CMA, or other relevant professional certification is a plus.
