Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Staff Accountant/Controller to join our team. In this vital role, you will support our financial operations by ensuring accurate accounting practices, preparing financial statements, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. Your expertise will help drive our financial health and growth, contributing to the continued success of our family business.

Responsibilities

Manage general ledger accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliation, and month-end closing procedures.
Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory requirements.
Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and ensure accuracy of accounts receivable and accounts payable records.
Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations of financial transactions.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, Xero, or similar platforms to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, technical accounting principles, and financial concepts including debits & credits and double entry bookkeeping.
Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft or similar tools; advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are essential.
Experience with financial report writing and interpretation to support management decisions.
Ability to mentor junior staff members while demonstrating excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
