As a graduate, you’ll benefit from structured training and development programs designed to build your skills and confidence from day one. You’ll also have access to Sage Foundation, our global initiative that gives you five paid volunteer days each year to make a positive impact in your community.

What will you be involved in?
Our Graduate Sales Excellence Program is designed for graduates who are ambitious, commercially curious, and passionate about building relationships and driving business growth. You will experience core areas of our sales organization, developing a rounded understanding of the full customer lifecycle from first contact to long-term partnership.
During the graduate program, you may work in two or more of the following teams:
CS Foundation
You will start with a foundational rotation in Customer Success, building an understanding of how customers adopt Sage products, realize value, and make decisions about renewal or growth. By the end of this rotation, you will be able to:
Use customer health, adoption, usage, and engagement data to identify churn risks, value opportunities, and expansion signals.
Build clear value stories that connect Sage capability to customer outcomes, including time saved, risk reduced, and efficiency gained.
Support renewal readiness by maintaining accurate CRM data, updating customer status, and contributing structured recommendations.
Run adoption and value check-ins with growing independence, coordinating with Product, Support, or Services to resolve blockers.
Produce a concise Customer Success case example showing how your work protected revenue, improved adoption, or created expansion readiness.
Sales Development
You will be at the starting point of Sage’s revenue engine, identifying, qualifying, and engaging potential customers. You will learn how to prospect effectively, handle objections confidently, and hand over warm opportunities to the wider sales team. This rotation builds the foundations of a sales career: resilience, curiosity, and the ability to communicate value quickly and clearly.
Retention and Renewal
You will work closely with existing customers to ensure they continue to see value in Sage’s solutions and renew their contracts. This rotation focuses on listening, understanding customer needs, and demonstrating long-term value. You will develop skills in account management, negotiation, and proactive relationship building, learning how to turn a renewal conversation into a growth opportunity.
New Customer Acquisition
You will work as part of a team focused on winning net-new business, taking prospects through the full sales cycle from first conversation to signed contract. You will learn how to run structured discovery conversations, build compelling business cases, present solutions to decision-makers, and close deals. This is where you will develop your consultative selling skills and commercial instinct.
Channel and Partner Sales
You will support Sage’s network of channel partners and resellers, helping them sell Sage solutions more effectively to their own customers. This rotation develops a more strategic perspective on sales, teaching you how to enable others, manage indirect relationships, and think about market reach and commercial impact at scale.
Please note that this is a hybrid role requiring 3 days per week in the office.
Key Responsibilities
During your time on the program, you could also be involved in:
Managing a pipeline of opportunities across your rotation area, tracking activity and progress in Sage’s CRM
Conducting discovery calls and needs assessments to understand what customers and prospects are trying to achieve
Preparing and delivering tailored presentations and demos that translate complex software solutions into clear business value
Collaborating with marketing, product, and customer success teams to ensure a joined-up customer experience
Analyzing sales data and pipeline metrics to identify trends, prioritize activity, and report on performance
Exploring how AI and automation tools are being used to improve sales productivity, prospecting, and customer engagement
This development program is designed to give you meaningful, hands-on experience across the full sales organization from day one. With the support and space to learn, ask questions, and grow, you will build the skills, commercial acumen, and confidence needed for a long-term career in sales or business development.
