Full Job Description

MDi-co is looking for a 2nd Shift CNC operator for our machine shop in Gilberts, IL. Experience preferred, but willing to train. Work hours for this shift are Monday-Friday, 4:00pm-12:30am including a 30 minute lunch break. We’re a very team-oriented environment with a growth and opportunity mindset. We’ve been scaling steadily, so there is plenty of opportunity to grow and advance by showing value and initiative. Our perfect candidate has a great attitude, is team-oriented, is a hard worker, has solid mechanical aptitude, and has great attention to detail. Key Responsibilities:

Quality Control: Conduct regular checks on the produced parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify conformance to specifications.
Adjustments and Troubleshooting: Make adjustments to tool offsets, speeds, feeds, and other parameters as necessary to correct deviations from specifications. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during production.
Material Handling: Load raw materials into the machine and remove finished parts, ensuring that materials are properly aligned and secured.
Maintenance and Cleaning: Perform routine maintenance tasks on CNC machines, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn tools or parts.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production activities, including tool changes, machine settings, and any quality control checks performed.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Report any safety concerns or incidents promptly.
Collaboration: Coordinate with other members of the production team, including supervisors, engineers, and quality control personnel, to meet production goals and resolve any issues that may arise.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Proven experience as a CNC Operator or similar role.

- Knowledge of G-code programming language is a plus.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision measuring instruments.

- Familiarity with machine maintenance and troubleshooting.

- Physical stamina and dexterity to handle materials and operate machinery for extended periods.

- Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols.
