Full Job Description

Overview

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the dealership's accounting operations by maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, processing transactions, and assisting with month-end close activities. The primary focus of this position will initially be Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions; however, all accounting responsibilities within the department are considered important. We are seeking a team member who is eager to learn and grow, as this role will be cross-trained across multiple accounting functions and dealership accounting desks over time.

Responsibilities

· Perform Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable duties, including invoice processing, payment posting, account reconciliation, and collections support.

· Participate in ongoing cross-training opportunities to develop proficiency in all dealership accounting functions.

· General ledger posting of new and used car deals

· Schedule reviews and maintenance

· Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.

· Assist with manufacturer incentive and warranty receivable reconciliations.

· Analyze financial data and investigate discrepancies.

· Support audits and provide requested documentation.

· Assist the Controller with financial reporting and special projects.

· Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications

· Automotive dealership accounting experience is required.

· Experience with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.

· Knowledge of general accounting principles and practices.

· Experience with dealership management systems such as CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, Dealertrack, or similar platforms preferred.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

· Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

· Willingness to learn all dealership accounting functions and participate in cross-training opportunities.

· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Pay: $46,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
