Full Job Description

Position Overview:

As a Medical Assistant, you will be integral to delivering high-quality patient care and administrative support within our healthcare team. Reporting to the Practice Administrator, you will utilize your core skills in medical terminology, EHR systems, and vital signs monitoring to enhance patient experiences. Your knowledge of physiology and anatomy, combined with strong organizational and communication operations. With opportunities to apply your premium skills in medical assisting and customer service, you will contribute to a collaborative environment focused on patient well-being and safety.

Skills:

Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and coding
Familiarity with medical administrative procedures and practices
Ability to handle patient care tasks such as vaccine administration, medication administration or inhalation treatments
Proficient in using electronic health record systems and other medical software
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining patient records
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
Strong organizational skills and ability to work well within a team

Responsibilities will include:

Greet and check-in patients in a friendly and professional manner
Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar
Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries or direct calls to the appropriate staff member
Verify patient insurance information and collect co-pays or payments
Maintain patient records and update information as necessary, per HIPAA
Assist with medical administrative support tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
Provide excellent customer service to patients and ensure their comfort during their visit
Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth patient flow
