General Manager - The Fort Restaurant | Morrison, Colorado

Salary based position - $80,000 - $85,000.00 per year based on experience

For more than 60 years, The Fort Restaurant has been a destination for exceptional dining, rich history, and unforgettable guest experiences. We are seeking an experienced, polished, and hospitality-focused Senior Front of House Manager to help lead our acclaimed restaurant and deliver world-class service to every guest who walks through our doors.This is a leadership opportunity for a seasoned hospitality professional who understands fine dining service, thrives in a high-volume environment, and possesses the presence, confidence, and expertise to lead teams while ensuring operational excellence.

Position Summary

The General Manager is responsible for overseeing daily front-of-house operations, leading and developing service teams, maintaining exceptional guest experiences, and driving operational efficiency. This individual will serve as a visible leader on the floor, setting the standard for hospitality, professionalism, and service excellence.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of management experience in a high-volume fine dining restaurant or comparable upscale hospitality environment
Demonstrated success leading front-of-house teams in a guest-focused operation
Exceptional knowledge of restaurant operations, hospitality standards, food, wine, and beverage service
Polished professional presence with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
Proven ability to lead, coach, and motivate teams in a fast-paced environment
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Experience managing guest relations and service recovery with professionalism and confidence
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in upscale, luxury, or destination dining concepts
Advanced wine knowledge; Sommelier certification or wine program experience is a plus
Experience with restaurant management systems, reservation platforms, and Toast POS systems
Knowledge of labor management, scheduling, inventory controls, and financial performance metrics
Multi-unit or senior management experience

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily front-of-house operations, ensuring seamless service execution
Lead, mentor, and develop managers, servers, bartenders, hosts, and support staff
Maintain and elevate service standards throughout the restaurant
Foster a culture of hospitality, accountability, teamwork, and excellence
Ensure exceptional guest experiences and proactively address guest concerns
Collaborate with culinary and leadership teams to deliver a cohesive dining experience
Manage staffing levels, scheduling, labor controls, and employee performance
Support recruiting, onboarding, training, and professional development initiatives
Monitor operational efficiencies and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
Uphold all company policies, health and safety standards, and responsible alcohol service requirements
