Annual Base Salary Range: $130,000 to $165,000, based on experience, interventional competencies, and leadership experience.
Position Summary
As a Psychiatric Physician Assistant (PA), you play a pivotal role in our mental health care team. This includes, but is not limited to, providing comprehensive psychiatric assessments, diagnoses, supportive therapy, medication management, Spravato/Esketamine and TMS referrals, and other evidence-based treatment interventions for adults and adolescents over fifteen years of age. You will focus on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals experiencing mental health disorders while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team and a collaborating psychiatrist in accordance with applicable state regulations to promote optimal mental health and well-being.
Role and Responsibilities
Stewardship
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based mental health care to patients across the lifespan, including comprehensive assessments, diagnosis, and treatment of psychiatric disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that may include medication management, psychotherapy, and integrative therapies.
- Manage and optimize treatment plans and medication regimens, ensuring efficient resource use and high-quality care.
- Display flexibility and adaptability as we expand access to care through the expansion of clinic hours and open new clinics.
- Partner with our clinic operations team to provide a best-in-class total patient experience.
- Participate in community outreach programs to promote mental health awareness and education.
- Ensure the quality and timely completion of all medical documentation and notes, maintaining up-to-date patient records that reflect current treatment plans.
Patient Experience
- Establish and maintain strong therapeutic relationships, providing compassionate and empathetic care and effectively communicating treatment plans.

Clinical Performance
- Comprehensive Psychiatric Care: Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, develop evidence-based treatment plans, implement appropriate interventions, and monitor patient outcomes.
- TMS: Gain proficiency in patient selection, treatment planning, and administration of TMS, including understanding contraindications and managing side effects.
- Spravato: Develop expertise in the safe administration of Spravato, monitoring patients during and after treatment, and managing potential side effects.
- Evidence-Based Patient Care: Incorporate evidence-based lifestyle interventions, including nutrition, exercise, mindfulness, and supportive psychotherapy techniques, into comprehensive patient care when clinically appropriate.
- Crisis Management: Assess and manages psychiatric emergencies, implement appropriate safety interventions, and follow established clinical protocols to ensure patient safety.
- Collaboration and Care Coordination: Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team through case reviews, team meetings, and care coordination activities to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care and optimize treatment outcomes.
Learning and Professional Growth
- Continuously update clinical skills and psychiatric knowledge through ongoing education and professional development.
- Foster a learning environment that encourages knowledge sharing and best practices in psychiatric care.
- Stay informed about current research and best practices in psychiatric care and apply this knowledge to clinical practice.
- Stay updated on the latest research and guidelines related to TMS and Spravato treatments by subscribing to relevant medical journals and attending conferences or webinars.
The Provider is expected to:
- Maintain clinical productivity consistent with organizational standards following the initial onboarding and ramp-up period.
- Build and maintain an efficiently managed schedule while supporting timely patient access and continuity of care.
- Provide high-quality, medically appropriate care supported by complete and accurate documentation that meets payer, regulatory, and organizational requirements.
- Utilize appropriate evaluation and management (E/M) coding and provide psychotherapy during medication management visits when clinically indicated and appropriately documented.
- Deliver patient-centered, evidence-based care that promotes positive patient experience and high levels of patient satisfaction.
- Complete clinical documentation in a timely manner in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, nursing staff, technicians, care coordinators, and administrative teams to support integrated, team-based care.
- Adhere to established clinical policies, standard operating procedures, evidence-based practice guidelines, and applicable regulatory and accreditation requirements.
- Participate in departmental meetings, case conferences, peer consultation, and other collaborative activities that support clinical excellence and quality improvement.
- Maintain professional competency through ongoing continuing education, required organizational training, and participation in relevant professional development activities.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, clinical program development, and organizational efforts to enhance patient outcomes, safety, operational efficiency, and access to care.
- Support interventional psychiatry services, including Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and Spravato® (esketamine) programs, as assigned, through evaluations, supervision, consultation, and collaborative care activities consistent with the provider's credentials, training, and organizational needs.
Essential Skills and Abilities
- Basic knowledge of psychiatric conditions and evidence-based psychiatric assessment and treatment.
- Experience with Spravato and/or TMS is preferred but not required; a strong interest in developing competency in interventional psychiatry is expected.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and written documentation skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to delivering patient-centered, evidence-based, and holistic psychiatric care.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize clinical responsibilities while maintaining high-quality patient care and timely documentation.

Comfort learning and using emerging healthcare technologies, including AI-assisted clinical documentation tools.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in physician assistant studies or completion of an accredited physician assistant program.
Experience and Credentials
- Current, unrestricted Physician Assistant license in Colorado.
- Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances.
- At least 2 years of experience as a physician assistant in psychiatric or mental‑health settings is preferred.
- Satisfactory background check inclusive of driving records, criminal records, employment references, education, Social Security and OIG/GSA exclusions.
- Authorization to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship by the company now or in the future.
- Adequate home office setup to perform administrative tasks remotely, with stable internet connectivity.
Technology Requirements
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and telehealth platforms.
- Comfort learning and using emerging healthcare technologies, including AI-assisted clinical documentation tools
- Advanced use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe, and the Microsoft Office suite for administrative tasks.
Travel
- Local travel between clinics may be required.
Language Skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as policies, procedure manuals, research information, review articles, and various periodicals.
- Ability to speak effectively and present information to all levels of internal and external customers. Ability to author routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to resolve and respond to common inquiries or complaints from all customers.
