Position/Title: CNC Operator

Reports to: General Manager

Company: PlasTech Machining & Fabrication

Compensation: $18 - $25/hour based on experience and skill level

Schedule:

First shift, 10 hours per day, 6:00am to 4:30pm, Monday-Thursday

The CNC Machine Operator position at PlasTech is a key role within our organization. We are seeking energetic, imaginative and creative individuals with robust skills in manufacturing, machining, hand tools and production processes accompanied by a genuine passion to learn. Your skills will be utilized within a fast growing and innovative shop environment. This position reports directly to the General Manager and is a highly valued role driving our continued success. Responsibilities include:

Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances
Operate mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including fundamental mathematical concepts
Work independently with minimal supervision as part of an efficient team
Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run parts, and sample workpieces; adhering to quality production standards and tight tolerance requirements
Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations including keeping work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition
Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; alerting GM when repairs are needed
Document actions by completing production and quality logs with accurate secondary operation documentation
Accomplish organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to operational objectives
Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to General Manager
Perform inspection of machined products (including documentation of results)
Ability to lift and maneuver materials up to 50 pounds around the shop floor
Perform other duties as assigned by General Manager
