Full Job Description

Bookkeeper

Midwest Professional Staffing is partnering with a well-established, privately held organization looking to add an experienced Bookkeeper to its team. With approximately $10 million in annual revenue, this is a hands-on accounting role for someone who enjoys having ownership of the accounting process and being involved from beginning to end.

This person will handle the day-to-day accounting functions and work closely with company leadership. It’s a great opportunity for someone who likes the variety and responsibility that comes with accounting in a smaller organization.

Responsibilities

Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable
Manage customer billing, cash receipts, and vendor payments
Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
Maintain the general ledger and record journal entries
Responsible for monthly closing process and preparing monthly financial statements and internal reporting
Manage payroll and related accounting responsibilities
Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation
Work with the company's outside CPA on year-end accounting and tax-related needs
Assist with cash flow tracking, and other financial reporting as needed
Handle miscellaneous accounting and administrative responsibilities that come with being the primary accounting resource for a smaller business

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role for at least two years.
Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of books
Familiarity with financial concepts such as debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliation.
Experience with payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable management, and bank reconciliation.
Ability to interpret financial data accurately using spreadsheets and financial software tools.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently.
Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams and departments.
