Lopez & Co., CPAs, a distinguished boutique firm, is actively seeking a highly qualified candidate to join our team as a Tax Accountant II. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, primarily based in the city of Chicago, and comes with an attractive compensation package.

At Lopez & Co., we specialize in delivering comprehensive audit, tax, and advisory services to a diverse clientele of small and medium-sized enterprises. Our core expertise lies in serving Engineering firms, healthcare providers, non-profit organizations, and entities engaged in international operations. Our service portfolio encompasses a wide spectrum of offerings, including Taxation, Business Consulting, Accounting, Audit, Financial Analysis, Acquisition Advisory, and Dashboard Development.

Responsibilities:

As a Tax Accountant II at Lopez & Co., you will play a pivotal role in supporting various facets of the services we provide to our esteemed clients. Your responsibilities will encompass, but are not limited to:

Preparing both business and individual tax returns.
Review tax returns prepared by Staff Accountants
Assist in tax planning for business and individual entities.
Preparing financial statements for business clients in various service sectors.
Assisting clients with financial reporting, month-end procedures, revenue recognition, invoicing, payroll, and/or accounts payable
Communicate effectively with team members and client personnel
Stay informed about industry updates and changes in accounting and tax strategies
Maintain organized and detailed tax and accounting documentation

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications, skills, and attributes:

A background of 2+ years of relevant professional experience.
Demonstrated commitment to a strong work ethic.
Exceptional financial and analytical skills, coupled with excellent organizational abilities.
Proficiency in verbal and written communication, with a keen attention to detail.
Capability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
Inherent self-motivation, goal-oriented mindset, and a positive attitude.
