Full Job Description

Do you enjoy leading projects from concept through installation? Do you thrive while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced and challenging construction environment? Are you energized by solving problems, coordinating with specialty trades, and helping complex architectural projects become reality?

We are seeking a Project Manager who takes ownership, anticipates risk, communicates proactively, and delivers a high level of service to clients and project stakeholders.

As a Project Manager, you will serve as the primary point of contact for the client and lead projects through design coordination, engineering, approvals, procurement, fabrication, logistics, installation, and closeout. You will work closely with general contractors, architects, engineers, suppliers, internal departments, installation teams, and other project stakeholders.

Project Managers are not simply responsible for passing information between departments. They are expected to organize the work, influence outcomes, identify risks, protect project margin, manage client relationships, and drive projects toward successful completion.

What Success Looks Like

Success for the Project Management team is defined by:

Managing project timelines and critical milestones
Protecting project margin and client relationships
Anticipating problems before they affect the project
Identifying, assessing, communicating, and mitigating risk
Influencing internal teams, external partners, and specialty trades
Coordinating effectively with all project stakeholders
Making informed decisions when complete information is not available
Providing proactive, white-glove client service
Communicating project status, risks, decisions, and required actions clearly
Taking accountability for the overall project outcome

Responsibilities

Manage multiple construction projects from project handoff through final closeout
Serve as the primary project contact for general contractors, architects, owners, engineers, suppliers, installers, and other stakeholders
Establish, maintain, and actively manage project schedules, milestones, deliverables, and action items
Understand the project’s critical path and identify activities that may affect committed delivery or installation dates
Coordinate shop drawings, engineering deliverables, submittals, RFIs, material selections, finish approvals, and client decisions
Proactively follow up with clients and internal teams to maintain required turnaround times
Identify incomplete information, design conflicts, scope gaps, and coordination issues early in the project
Attend and, when necessary, lead project coordination meetings with clients, design professionals, general contractors, and other trades
Coordinate our work with overall construction schedules and the activities of other trades
Monitor scope changes and identify potential scope creep, change-order opportunities, and impacts to schedule or cost
Maintain a current understanding of project risks and implement appropriate mitigation plans
Coordinate with Engineering, Purchasing, Scheduling, Production, Quality, Logistics, Installation, Finance, and Sales
Confirm that projects are ready for procurement, fabrication, shipment, and installation
Monitor production milestones established through the master scheduling process and proactively address threats to on-time completion
Track outsourced components, long-lead materials, customer-supplied information, and other project constraints
Coordinate site readiness, access, equipment requirements, delivery logistics, installer needs, and installation sequencing
Monitor project financial performance, including billing milestones, costs, change orders, and profitability
Support accurate and timely project billing and documentation
Maintain complete and organized project records
Manage punch-list items, closeout documentation, warranties, and final project completion
Escalate significant risks early while providing a clear assessment, available options, and a recommended course of action
Travel to jobsites, customer meetings, coordination meetings, and installations as required

Construction Fluency

A successful Project Manager does not need to be an expert in every construction discipline. However, the individual must be construction fluent and able to understand how design, engineering, procurement, fabrication, logistics, and field installation affect one another.

The Project Manager should have a working understanding of:

Critical Path Method, commonly referred to as CPM
Schedule float and milestone dependencies
Theory of Constraints
Construction sequencing
Trade stacking and trade coordination
Site logistics and access limitations
Installation constraints
Typical means and methods used to erect steel and aluminum structures
Cranes, lifts, forklifts, scaffolding, rigging, and other common installation equipment
Long-lead and short-lead materials
Shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and approval processes
General construction schedules and project coordination requirements
Basic project cost, billing, change-order, and margin concepts

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, or a related field is preferred
Previous experience in project management, construction, engineering, specialty contracting, architectural products, manufacturing, or field operations is preferred
Working knowledge of commercial construction processes and terminology
Ability to read and understand architectural and structural drawings
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders
Ability to identify risks, solve problems, and make sound decisions
Confidence communicating with clients, contractors, architects, engineers, field personnel, and senior leadership
Willingness to ask questions, learn products and operations, and develop a strong understanding of how our work is fabricated and installed
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments
Willingness and ability to travel as required
A valid driver’s license

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
