Position Summary:

Produces a wide range of bakery products for the Club and specialty items for events. Decorates pastries as directed. Maintains production in the absence of Pastry Chef.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Produces a wide range of quality bakery products for the Club

· Staffs action stations for events.

· Ensures decoration of desserts is exquisite, consistent among volume items and worthy of a world-class private club

· Excels at proper cooking techniques, flavor evaluation, and baking skills

· Proficient with all commercial kitchen equipment, and demonstrates appropriate and safe use of same

· Ensures that all ingredients are fresh and that items are prepared and stored to ensure maximum freshness upon serving

· Minimizes waste and efficiently utilizes supplies

· Follows all ServSafe, OSHA, and Health Department guidelines

· Monitors kitchen equipment each service to ensure cleanliness and good working order; Monitors coolers, freezers, and food storage to ensure items are stored appropriately

General Responsibilities:

· Demonstrates excellence in the following areas: Attendance, Teamwork, Work Ethic, Positive Attitude, Professional Appearance and Demeanor, Communication Skills, Relationship with other staff, Relationship with Supervisors/Management, Dedication to delivering excellence to members, Follows all policies and procedures.

· This position is fluid and may have ever changing responsibilities.

Qualifications:

· Culinary/Pastry Arts Certificate / Degree & 2 years relevant bakery experience, preferably in an upscale venue

· Current ServSafe certification or willingness to acquire

· Basic understanding of culinary math and measurements

· Able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen

· Able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation, which includes, but is not limited to: Ability to read, write and speak English sufficiently to ensure smooth operations of department; bending, stooping, standing for long periods, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs.
