Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry, with experience in kitchen operations and a keen interest in menu planning. As an Assistant Chef, you will play a vital role in supporting the head chef and ensuring that all food preparation meets our high standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities

Assist the head chef in daily kitchen operations, including food preparation and cooking.
Help with menu planning, taking into consideration dietary needs and preferences.
Ensure all food handling practices comply with food safety regulations.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and work areas.
Support the dietary department by preparing meals that meet specific dietary requirements.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during meal periods.
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, assisting with ordering as needed.
Participate in training new kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and safety protocols.

Requirements

Previous experience in a kitchen or culinary environment is preferred.
Knowledge of food handling and food safety standards is essential.
Familiarity with menu planning and dietary aide responsibilities is a plus.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
A passion for cooking and a desire to learn and grow within the culinary field.
