Experienced Hotel Maintenance Technician – On-Site Housing Provided

Location: Douglas, Wyoming
Properties: Budget Inn Express, Super 8, and First Interstate Inn
Job Type: Part-Time / On-Call, with potential for additional hours
Housing: On-site housing provided

We are looking for an experienced Hotel Maintenance Technician in Douglas, Wyoming to support our three hotel properties: Budget Inn Express, Super 8, and First Interstate Inn.

This is not an entry-level maintenance position. We are looking for someone with strong hands-on hotel maintenance experience who can independently diagnose problems, make proper repairs, and help prevent recurring maintenance issues.

On-site housing will be provided as part of the position. This is a good opportunity for someone looking for stable housing along with ongoing maintenance work across multiple hotel properties.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair maintenance issues in guest rooms, common areas, mechanical areas, and exterior areas
Perform regular preventive maintenance inspections
Troubleshoot and repair plumbing issues, including:
Toilets
Faucets
Clogged drains
Water leaks
Shutoff valves
Water heaters
Troubleshoot and maintain hotel HVAC and PTAC units
Diagnose heating and cooling problems
Replace filters, thermostats, and basic HVAC/PTAC components
Perform basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs, including:
Outlets
Switches
Lighting
Breakers
Fixtures
Repair and maintain:
Guest room doors
Locks and handles
Furniture
Drywall
Flooring
Windows
Bathroom fixtures
Appliances
Perform painting, patching, caulking, and minor renovation work
Assist with hotel laundry equipment and other property equipment
Identify leaks, water damage, safety concerns, and building problems before they become larger issues
Respond promptly to urgent guest-room maintenance problems
Determine when a repair can be handled internally and when a licensed contractor or specialist is needed
Maintain tools, replacement parts, and maintenance supplies
Keep maintenance areas clean and organized
Document completed repairs and communicate outstanding issues to management
Help management prioritize repairs based on guest impact, safety, urgency, and cost
Travel between Budget Inn Express, Super 8, and First Interstate Inn as needed

Experience We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in hotel, motel, apartment, commercial building, or facilities maintenance.

We are specifically looking for someone with solid working knowledge in several of the following areas:

Hotel room maintenance
HVAC and PTAC systems
Plumbing
Electrical troubleshooting
Water heaters
Appliance repair
Carpentry
Drywall
Painting
Doors and locks
Preventive maintenance
General building repairs

Previous hotel or motel maintenance experience is strongly preferred.

We need someone who can walk into a room, correctly diagnose the cause of a problem, and make a lasting repair rather than simply applying a temporary fix.

Reliable transportation
Ability to work between multiple hotel properties in Douglas
Availability for occasional urgent or after-hours maintenance calls
Professional when working around hotel guests and employees
Ability to lift and move tools, equipment, furniture, and maintenance supplies
Good communication with hotel management regarding:
Repairs completed
Parts needed
Problems requiring additional work
Major maintenance concerns

Schedule

We are flexible depending on the right candidate.

The position may include:

Part-Time Scheduled Hours
Regular maintenance, repairs, property inspections, and preventive maintenance.

On-Call Responsibilities
Responding to urgent maintenance problems when needed.

Combination Position
Scheduled maintenance work along with availability for occasional emergency or after-hours calls.

Candidates with strong experience in HVAC/PTAC repair, plumbing, electrical troubleshooting, appliance repair, or hotel renovations may qualify for higher compensation.

Position Opportunity

We operate multiple hotel properties and are looking for someone who can become a dependable part of our hotel operations.

The maintenance technician will primarily be responsible for:

Budget Inn Express
Super 8
First Interstate Inn

We are looking for someone who takes ownership of maintenance problems, keeps management informed, watches property costs, and helps keep all three hotels safe, operational, and guest-ready.
