Full Job Description

Are you a skilled cutter or looking to master the art of butchery? Ocean Mart Sandy is looking for a Meat & Seafood Clerk to join our busy department. We aren't just a grocery store; we are a destination for families looking for high-quality, specialty cuts and fresh seafood they can't find anywhere else.

Position Overview

In this role, you are the expert behind the counter. You’ll be responsible for preparing high-quality meats, handling fresh seafood, and providing the "old-school" butcher service our customers love.

Key Responsibilities:

Precision Cutting: Cut, trim, and bone meat (beef, pork, poultry) according to store standards and customer requests.
Seafood Handling: Clean and prepare fresh fish and shellfish, ensuring peak quality and presentation.
Counter Service: Provide expert recommendations to customers on cooking techniques and flavor pairings.
Inventory & Safety: Maintain a spotless, sanitized workspace and ensure all products are labeled and rotated correctly.
Equipment Mastery: Safely operate saws, grinders, and knives.

The Craftsman: Someone who takes pride in the "look" of a meat case and the precision of their cuts.
The Teacher: Someone who enjoys explaining different cuts of meat to curious customers.
The Professional: Reliable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in cold environments (refrigerated meat rooms).
