Full Job Description

We are seeking a proactive, resourceful Buyer to join our growing FAA Part 145 aerospace repair station. This role supports the strategic purchasing function by sourcing parts, managing vendor relationships, coordinating outside repairs, and ensuring material availability to support component repair operations.

We're looking for someone with strong problem-solving skills, curiosity, and the ability to find solutions—not just someone who checks every box. Aerospace experience is helpful, but we're equally interested in candidates who have demonstrated the ability to learn quickly, think critically, and build strong supplier relationships.

Responsibilities:

Purchase exchange units and source repairable components.
Identify and qualify alternative suppliers to improve availability and reduce lead times.
Research PMA (Parts Manufacturer Approval) opportunities and alternative sourcing options.
Coordinate with Engineering regarding DER repair opportunities for repeat failures or part shortages.
Manage off-site repair vendors and monitor repair status.
Fulfill production material requirements and maintain stock replenishment.
Negotiate pricing, lead times, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
Monitor supplier performance and resolve purchasing issues.
Work closely with Production, Planning, Engineering, and Quality to support operational needs.
Maintain accurate purchasing records within the ERP system.

Qualifications:

Previous purchasing, procurement, buyer, or supply chain experience preferred.
Experience in manufacturing, aerospace, aviation, MRO, electronics, automotive, or another technical industry is a plus.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Excellent communication and vendor relationship management abilities.
Comfortable researching suppliers and solving sourcing challenges.
Proficient with Microsoft Office; ERP experience is a plus.
Self-motivated with strong follow-through and attention to detail.

The ideal candidate is naturally curious and enjoys solving problems. They don't stop when the first supplier says "no", they keep looking for alternatives. They are organized, dependable, and take ownership of their work while collaborating well with multiple departments.

Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
