About Us

Southern California Medical Center is a nonprofit Federally Qualified Health Center dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate healthcare to the communities we serve. We are seeking a friendly, organized, and customer-focused Patient Services Representative (Farsi Speaking) to join our growing team.

Position Summary

The Patient Services Representative serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors. This role is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while managing front office operations, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance eligibility, collecting patient payments, and ensuring an efficient patient check-in and check-out process. Fluency in Farsi and English is required to effectively communicate with our diverse patient population.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Greet and assist patients in a professional and welcoming manner.
Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.
Verify insurance eligibility and benefits.
Register new patients and update demographic and insurance information.
Collect co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances.
Answer incoming phone calls and respond to patient inquiries.
Maintain accurate patient records within the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Coordinate with providers and clinical staff to ensure efficient patient flow.
Scan and upload patient documents into the EMR.
Protect patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
Perform additional administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of one (2) years of medical front office or healthcare customer service experience preferred.
Fluent in both Farsi and English (required).
Experience verifying insurance eligibility and obtaining authorizations preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient with Microsoft Office and electronic medical record systems.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in a Federally Qualified Health Center or community health clinic.
Familiarity with Medi-Cal, Medicare, and commercial insurance plans.
Experience using NexGen EMR is a plus.
