Full Job Description

We are a very active modern and not for profit senior living community conveniently located in Castro Valley. We are in search of service minded individuals with the desire to make a positive impact on the vulnerable residents that live within our community.

Position available for Full Time Medication Technician/Caregiver with an open schedule to work all shifts.

Majority of the position will be working as a CAREGIVER

Must have open availability to work weekends - no exceptions.

Pay starts at $23.00 per hour through $26.00 per hour for 10 or more years of experience.

We are a 24/7 facility therefore one must be able to work weekends and holidays as required. All applicants are required to complete and pass a drug screening, physical exam with tuberculosis (TB) skin test, and criminal clearance through FBI and Department of Justice. The background search includes minor misdemeanors and DUIs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Aware of the Title 22 RCFE Regulations
Receive medications from family, pharmacy or resident.
Ensure that each medication has a signed physician’s order.
Transcribe each physician’s medication order onto MAR (Medication Assistance Record) correctly.
Ensure that all PRN orders are written by physician according to Title 22 RCFE Regulations.
Ensure that all pharmacy labels are written in accordance with Title 22 RCFE Regulations.
Medications are poured/passed, recorded, reordered, centrally stored, discontinued and/or destroyed in accordance with Title 22 RCFE Regulations.
Caregiver duties: light housekeeping, dressing/bathing/assisting with restroom, taking from dining room to apartment. Majority of hours worked will be as a Caregiver.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be able to write and document in the ADL forms
Current First Aid Certification - must have prior to on-floor training

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORKING CONDITIONS:

Physical demands require mobility about the unit with direct resident care involving standing, bending, pushing, pulling, stooping, twisting, and reaching.
Must be able to transport residents via wheelchair, gerichair, and/or shower chair, pushing unassisted
Must be able to lift, transfer, turn and position a resident weighing up to 125 pounds unassisted or with assistance using mechanical lift equipment.
May be exposed to verbal and physical abuse by residents.
