Full Job Description

Overview

Join our construction team as a Concrete Saw Operator and play a vital role in sawing concrete/bituminous for removal. This position requires a skilled individual who thrives on hands-on work, safety adherence, and technical precision. As a key contributor to our projects, you'll operate specialized cutting equipment to execute accurate cuts in concrete and bituminous surfaces, supporting various construction tasks from core drilling, wall sawing, flat sawing, and barrier sawing. Your expertise will help ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to exact specifications.

Duties

Operate concrete saws and power tools to make precise cuts in concrete slabs, walls, and other surfaces according to blueprints and schematics
Interpret construction plans, technical drawings, and blueprint specifications to determine cutting locations and depths
Assist with concrete forming, rebar installation, and formwork construction to prepare surfaces for cutting or finishing
Support concrete pouring and finishing operations by coordinating with team members on timing and placement
Maintain safety protocols by inspecting equipment before use, wearing proper protective gear, and adhering to construction workplace safety regulations
Conduct routine maintenance on saws and power tools to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are met
Collaborate with carpenters, masons, and other tradespeople on-site to execute demolition or renovation tasks involving concrete surfaces

Skills

Strong mechanical knowledge of power tools, heavy equipment operation, and concrete cutting machinery
Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and interpreting technical drawings accurately
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following construction safety regulations
Skilled in using hand tools
Understanding of construction site safety protocols including OSHA standards or equivalent safety workplace regulations
Experience working on diverse construction projects including commercial buildings, renovations, restoration efforts or heavy civil works
Proven ability to work efficiently within a team environment while maintaining high safety standards
