Full Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a dependable and motivated Line Cook to join our culinary team at a private club in Bergen County. This position plays an essential role in preparing high-quality meals for our members and guests while maintaining an organized, clean, and efficient kitchen. The ideal candidate is passionate about food, works well in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in consistency and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and presentation standards.
Set up and stock workstations with all necessary ingredients and supplies.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area throughout each shift.
Follow food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
Assist with food preparation, storage, and proper rotation of products.
Communicate effectively with the kitchen team to ensure timely service.
Support both à la carte dining and banquet events as needed.
Assist with receiving deliveries and organizing inventory.
Help maintain kitchen equipment and notify management of any maintenance needs.
Contribute to a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a line cook or in a commercial kitchen preferred.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food safety practices.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay: $20.00–$22.00 per hour, based on experience.
Full-time position.
