Full Job Description

JOB TITLE: Community Market Lead Associate

REPORTS TO: Sr. Community Market Manager, Main

DIRECT REPORTS: May provide supervision to volunteers, interns, and AmeriCorps members

WORK SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday (In-person), *7am – 3:30pm or *7:30am – 4pm. 3rd Thursday evenings and 1st & 3rd Saturdays required (see "Working Conditions” for more details).

Position Description:

The Community Market Lead Associate supports the effective day-to-day operations of Crossroads’ Main Community Market by reinforcing consistent shopper flow, supporting frontline team performance, and ensuring accurate use of data and program systems. Working under the direction of the Sr. Community Market Manager, this role helps bridge service delivery and operational consistency by providing guidance, coordination, and light administrative support across key market functions. This position is not a supervisory role but serves as a lead support position that helps ensure processes such as check-in, intake, survey participation, and appointment management are executed efficiently and consistently. The Lead Associate also plays a key role in supporting staff, AmeriCorps members, and volunteers through training reinforcement and day-to-day coaching, while helping maintain a high-quality, dignified experience for all shoppers and supporting meaningful engagement with Crossroads programs and services.

Community Market Coordination:

· Serve as a lead support presence within the Market, modeling service excellence and reinforcing Crossroads’ values of EQUITY in all shopper interactions

· Support training, onboarding, and day-to-day guidance of volunteers, AmeriCorps members, and interns across all Market service stations: Reception, Check-In, Intake, and Survey & Order

· Reinforce and uphold Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring consistent, high-quality service delivery across all client-facing operations

· Support oversight of the appointment system, including tracking, scheduling, and follow-up to promote timely and equitable access for all shoppers

· Assist in preparing the Market for daily operations, including stocking, restocking, and staging of produce and KRP items

· Ensure all required materials are prepared and available daily (e.g., TEFAP forms, appointment cards, emergency bags/boxes, PAN boxes, signage, educational materials)

· Monitor daily workflows and provide real-time guidance to support efficient shopper flow, minimize wait times, and maintain service consistency

· Support proper use of intake, survey, and program tools, reinforcing accuracy and encouraging shopper participation where appropriate

Shopper Engagement & Survey Participation:

· Support and encourage shopper participation in Crossroads surveys, including general program questions and research-related questionnaires · Assist shoppers in completing surveys using mobile tools, QR codes, or on-site devices as needed · Reinforce the purpose of surveys in a clear, approachable way that emphasizes how feedback improves services and programs · Ensure surveys are completed accurately and respectfully, maintaining confidentiality and trust · Help identify patterns in shopper feedback and elevate insights to the Sr. Community Market Mgr.

Data Collection, Reporting & Compliance:

· Support accurate and timely data collection for every household served, ensuring alignment with TEFAP and internal reporting standards

· Reinforce proper data entry, intake validation, and survey participation across all service stations

· Maintain shopper confidentiality and ensure appropriate handling of sensitive information at all times

· Assist in organizing and maintaining required documentation (e.g., TEFAP forms) to support audits and compliance reviews

· Support preparation/accuracy of daily service data, elevating discrepancies or concerns to leadership

· Support shopper participation in surveys to strengthen program insights and service improvements

· Help identify trends or notable shopper feedback and elevate insights to support program improvement and communications efforts in collaboration with the Data Research Coordinator

Job Requirements, Experience & Qualifications:

· Minimum 2 years of experience in nonprofit, food access, or community-based environments; experience working with under-resourced populations and diverse communities preferred

· Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency (read/write/speak) strongly preferred

· Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities

· Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to guide and support volunteers, peers, or team members

· Comfort using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) and CRM systems like Salesforce

· Ability to adapt quickly, problem-solve in real time, and support consistent service delivery under changing conditions

· Experience in high-volume service environments, intake systems, scheduling, or program coordination is a plus

· Interest in or exposure to food access, nutrition education, or community-based programming is a plus

WORKING CONDITIONS

Employee may periodically be going in and out of freezers and coolers with variations in temperature. Work involves moving boxes and employee must lift, bend, stoop, pick up and move objects up to 50 pounds. Work involves using manual pallet jacks and therefore requires an ability to push and pull pallets over 2,000 pounds. Some travel is required to attend meetings/events/conferences locally. Regular workday and workweek are established with some planned early morning or evening hours, and Saturday shifts.

MENTAL DEMANDS

The employee in this position needs to adapt well in the face of workplace stressors such as volunteer or Market shopper complaints, concerns from corporate sponsors or community partners, compliance offenses, and competing priorities of reasonable or high significance to the successful function of the department. The employee

must be able to effectively interpret data and make critical decisions that may significantly impact the team and organization.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The employee is expected to make decisions, supervise volunteers, read, and write, speak publicly, and interpret information and data. May be seated for periods of time and occasionally may have to lift boxes or other materials that weigh less than 50 lbs.
