Full Job Description

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Surgical Coordinator to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing surgical schedules, coordinating patient care, and ensuring seamless communication between patients and medical staff. This position requires strong customer service skills, proficiency in medical office management, and familiarity with health information systems.

Responsibilities

Coordinate surgical schedules and ensure timely communication with patients regarding their procedures.
Manage patient records and maintain accurate health information in compliance with regulations.
Assist with coding for surgical procedures and ensure proper documentation for billing purposes.
Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient inquiries and concerns promptly.
Collaborate with medical staff to facilitate pre-operative and post-operative care.
Utilize electronic health record systems such as for efficient data management.
Oversee medical collections related to surgical services and follow up on outstanding accounts.
Maintain a clean and organized clinic environment to enhance patient experience.

Requirements

Proven experience in a medical office setting, preferably within a surgical or dental environment.
Strong knowledge of health information management practices and medical coding principles.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
Familiarity with computerized systems for scheduling, record keeping, and billing processes.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Previous experience using electronic health record systems such as Advanced MD or Nextech is preferred but not required.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
