Full Job Description

EMPLOYMENT SPECIALIST / CASE MANAGER

Both Full and Part time positions available!

If you have a strong desire to help people find and retain employment, this may be the job for you!

This is both a challenging and rewarding position for someone who desires to help unemployed Rhode Island residents transition from unemployment to work.

Responsibilities include barrier and skills assessment, employment plan development, job site development, job search assistance and job placement. Works cooperatively with other community partners and the SER team to best assist clients in reaching their employment goals.

ASSESSMENT

Administer, score and interpret using various assessment tools
Conduct in depth interviews to identify and assess barriers to successful program participation and employment
Facilitate group workshops
Document all assessment results

CASE MANAGEMENT

Develop an Individual Employment Plan (IEP)
Identify resources and develop strategies to address barriers to successful program completion and employment
Closely monitor client progress toward program goals and compliance
Serve as a liaison and advocate between client and other agencies
Maintain close contact with community partners
Document all interaction with the client and keep case notes current
Review with client, and if needed, revise individual IEPs on a monthly basis
Meet with each client at least five hours weekly until job placement
Submit timely reports using a variety of computer-based and online programs

TRAINING & JOB PLACEMENT

Identify and develop appropriate training opportunities that are consistent with client and program goals
Develop job placements consistent with client’s training and abilities
Provide employers and training sites with an orientation to program goals
Monitor client progress by maintaining employer contact to ensure that the client achieves retention goals
Document all contact with employers, training sites, and clients
Develop strong relationships with new and existing employer partners

Responsible for other duties as may be assigned by management.

SER provides services throughout the state of Rhode Island with a high concentration in Pawtucket and Providence.

Must have valid drivers license and own transportation.
