Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic and friendly Host/Hostess to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our guests. In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact, ensuring smooth seating arrangements, managing reservations, and providing exceptional guest services. Your enthusiasm and organizational skills will help set the tone for a memorable dining experience, encouraging guests to return time and again. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your hospitality talents and develop valuable customer service expertise.

Duties

Greet guests warmly upon arrival, making them feel comfortable and appreciated from the moment they walk in
Manage restaurant reservation systems, including booking, confirming, and adjusting reservations efficiently
Escort guests to their tables, ensuring timely seating and optimal table management using restaurant POS (Point of Sale) systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS
Answer phone inquiries with professionalism, providing accurate information about wait times, reservations, and restaurant offerings while practicing excellent phone etiquette
Maintain organized waiting lists and communicate wait times clearly to guests
Coordinate with the serving staff to ensure smooth flow of guest seating and table turnover
Uphold food safety standards by adhering to proper hygiene and cleanliness protocols in guest areas

Skills

Proven experience as a host/hostess or in a similar customer service role within a restaurant environment
Strong knowledge of restaurant reservation management and table management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests
Demonstrated organizational skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy hours
Ability to operate POS systems confidently and accurately process guest transactions
Basic math skills for managing reservations, seating counts, and billing procedures
Knowledge of food safety practices and hospitality standards to ensure guest well-being and satisfaction
Experience in food service environments that enhances guest relations and service delivery skills
