CNC Swiss Machinist Programmer/Setup Operator

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced CNC Swiss Machinist Programmer/Setup Operator to join our team. This position is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating Citizen and Star Swiss-type CNC lathes to manufacture precision components that meet quality and production standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist who enjoys problem-solving, process improvement, and mentoring others.

Responsibilities

Program, set up, and operate Citizen and Star Swiss CNC machines.
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T specifications.
Develop and optimize CNC programs using CAD/CAM software.
Perform first-piece inspections and verify production quality.
Troubleshoot machining, tooling, programming, and machine issues.
Create and maintain setup sheets, tooling lists, and production documentation.
Monitor tooling inventory and production supply needs.
Train and support machine operators and less experienced team members.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Follow all quality, safety, ISO, ITAR, and company procedures.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
5+ years of experience operating and programming Citizen and Star Swiss CNC lathes.
Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T.
Strong knowledge of machining practices, tooling, speeds, feeds, and inspection techniques.
Experience with CAD/CAM software.
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Strong communication, organizational, and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

Technical school, apprenticeship, or machining program training.
Experience with ESPRIT CAD/CAM software.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and move throughout the production area for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Ability to inspect small precision components and operate machine controls safely.
