Full Job Description

TRAVEL EMERGENCY ROOM (ER) RN CONTRACT

Must have:
MA RN LICENSE
1.5 YRS RECENT ER EXP
BLS, ACLS, TNCC, PALS.
EPIC Experience
SHIFT: 48Hr Nights
2 Weekends in a 4 week schedule.
Everyother Holiday
MUST BE OUTSIDE 50 Mile radius for this rate, otherwise a Local Rate is implemented.
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse to provide exceptional patient care in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive clinical expertise, critical thinking skills, and a compassionate approach to patient management. This role offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic healthcare setting, delivering urgent and emergent care to diverse patient populations. The ER Nurse will be instrumental in assessing, prioritizing, and treating patients with varying degrees of medical needs while ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.Duties
Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history, and physical examinations, to determine acuity levels and prioritize care.
Administer medications, intravenous infusions, and injections accurately following established protocols and physician orders.
Manage airway patency, ventilator support, and acute pain control for critically ill patients in accordance with emergency medicine standards.
Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner to document patient information accurately and efficiently.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for trauma, infectious disease cases, or other urgent conditions.
Conduct diagnostic evaluations including laboratory specimen collection, processing, and interpretation of results such as ICD coding and laboratory data.
Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families during stressful emergency situations while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
Demonstrate proficiency in advanced procedures such as suturing, catheterization (including cardiac catheterization), and aseptic techniques essential for trauma medicine and critical care.

Skills

Extensive experience working in emergency medicine settings within Level I or Level II trauma centers; ICU or critical care experience is highly valued.
Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth; familiarity with medical documentation standards including ICD-9/ICD-10 coding.
Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, trauma medicine, infectious disease care, and acute care protocols.
Skilled in performing physical examinations, vital sign monitoring, IV insertion/venipuncture, tube feeding management, and airway management techniques.
Ability to handle complex cases involving long-term care experience such as hospice & palliative medicine or geriatrics; experience working with individuals with disabilities is advantageous.
Competence in managing pain through advanced pain management strategies; familiarity with Workers' Compensation law is beneficial for occupational health cases.
Excellent communication skills for triage assessment, case management, discharge planning, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams across hospital medicine or outpatient settings.
