Full Job Description

This position requires prior TRUE OTR trucking dispatch experience. Dispatch in EMS, police, fire, taxi, rideshare, or automotive environments will not be considered.

Responsibilities:

Plan optional routes for drivers on delivery deadlines, traffic conditions, and vehicle capacities.
Cover back-hauls in a strategic manner by planning and coordinating with brokers.
Coordinate the assignment of freight to available drivers and trucks, ensuring efficient utilization of resources.
Maintain regular communication with drivers to provide updates on routes, weather conditions, and delivery instructions.
Act swiftly to resolve logistical challenges or delays that may arise during transit, minimizing disruptions to delivery schedules.
Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards, including hours-of-service regulations and handling protocols.
Provide exceptional customer service to clients by promptly addressing inquiries, tracking shipments, and resolving issues related to delivery schedules or cargo conditions.
Prepare and maintain accurate documentation related to shipments, including bills of lading, delivery receipts, and customer paperwork.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings within the dispatching operations.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in transportation, logistics, or dispatching required.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Proficiency with dispatch software and GPS navigation systems.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Knowledge of transportation regulations and industry best practices.
Flexibility to work 8 – 10 shifts.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
