Front Office-Medical Coordinator

Reports to

Front Office Supervisor

Job purpose

Front Office Administrator is responsible for greeting, checking-in and/or checking–out patients,updating patient demographic information, scheduling appointments, answering phones, understanding of retail product lines and the handling of cash.

Duties and responsibilities

Greets patients in a professional and courteous manner.
Promptly answers incoming calls in a professional manner, transfers to appropriate person, takes message if require or providers assistance as applicable.
Updates patient registrations when appropriate.
Obtains correct demographic and insurance information from the patient.
Collect co-pay and any other money due to patient.
Schedules patient appointments.
Scans insurance cards and registrations.
Distributes faxes
Sells retail products.
Other Duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Strong Customer Service skills with a Minimum of one year of customer service experience.
Previous medical office experience preferred.
Strong computer and typing proficiency, including Microsoft.
Strong verbal/written communication and organizational skills.
Professionalism and ability to be discreet with confidential and sensitive issues.
Ability to work effectively with staff, patients, providers, external agencies and the general public.
Ability to multi-task.
Ability to perform multiple tasks and work a varied schedule.
Ability to foster professional and productive relationships.
Ability to work as part of team.
Ability to initiative.
Ability to problem solve.
Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA compliance and OSHA rules and regulations preferred.
Ability to travel to satelite office 1 to 2 times a month

Physical requirements

The work environment consists of exposure to physical conditions typical of a normal office environment.
Most of the job is performed while sitting for longer periods of time.
May require occasional standing or walking and or the lifting and carrying of small objects

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
