Hotel Maintenance Engineer
Position Title: Hotel Maintenance Engineer
Position Summary: This position is responsible for the assisting with the maintenance of the hotel’s building and grounds. Hours are 7:30am to 4:00pm Monday through Friday and all Holidays that fall on weekdays. Must be available to come in for emergencies on weekends. Must live in Effingham, or very close by.
Essential Position Functions:
- You need 2-3 years of maintenance Experience with a Hotel or Apartments.
- You must be strong in HVAC PM, Upkeep and minor repairs.
- You must have Handyman level experience with electrical, plumbing, tile, drywall, and painting.
- Maintain the building and grounds to meet hotel standards (dump trash, spray weeds, pick up litter, keep back of house areas clean and organized).
- Respond to requests from guests for assistance and information about guest rooms and hotel.
- Complete Daily, Weekly & Monthly Checklists.
- Collect, prioritize and Complete Work Tickets.
- Perform preventive maintenance assignments on a scheduled basis.
- Plan and execute on-going appropriate maintenance programs.
- Ensure that property and equipment are maintained in a safe manner, and that all repairs are made as specified by manufacture.
- Service the hotel’s pool including cleaning, appearance, and chemical balance and completing maintenance log.
- Maintain building exterior.
- Complete maintenance logs.
- Responsible for maintaining tool inventory and condition. Keep maintenance storage room and maintenance room cleaned and organized.
- Perform or assist with periodic or scheduled cleaning projects.
- Be available after Hours and on weekends to come in for emergencies.
- Work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Maintain open communication with other hotel departments.
- Understand and help monitor basic safety and security procedures of the hotel, Fre Drills, Life Safety, CPR Certification.
- Assist other departments when needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Ability to work independently.
- High School education or equivalent.
Working Relationships:
- Interacts with all other property team members (Housekeeping, Laundry & Front Desk).
- Reports to General Manager & Owner.
