Job Summary

Join our dynamic team as a Dishwasher/Food Prep specialist, where your energy and attention to detail will help create a seamless dining experience. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment while assisting with food preparation and basic culinary tasks. Your dedication ensures that our kitchen operates efficiently, safely, and in accordance with food safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop culinary skills, gain valuable kitchen experience, and contribute to a vibrant food service environment.

Responsibilities

Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment promptly to maintain cleanliness and availability for food preparation and service
Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as slicing, chopping, and portioning ingredients following established recipes and safety guidelines
Support the culinary team in meal assembly and presentation to ensure timely service
Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas in compliance with sanitation standards
Operate kitchen equipment safely including dishwashers, slicers, mixers, and other culinary tools
Follow food handling procedures to ensure safety and prevent cross-contamination during meal prep and service
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks, report equipment issues, and uphold safety protocols

Qualifications

Prior experience in dietary departments or food service environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm to learn is valued
Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to safety standards in production environments
Experience with menu planning, food preparation, cooking techniques, and recipe adherence is a plus
Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, slicers, knives (including slicing techniques), and other culinary tools
Strong understanding of food handling procedures, sanitation practices, and meal preparation processes
Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen staff and team members
Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items safely, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
