AUTOMOTIVE GENERAL SALES MANAGER
Luxury Automotive Dealership - Southern California

A well-established, high-performing luxury automotive dealership is seeking an accomplished AUTOMOTIVE General Sales Manager to join its senior leadership team. This search focuses on identifying a proven automotive executive who can strengthen sales performance, develop exceptional talent, and elevate an already-premium client experience. This is not a traditional management position. It is a high-impact leadership opportunity within a respected luxury dealership and growing automotive organization that recognizes results, rewards performance, and values long-term professional relationships.

COMPENSATION THAT REWARDS RESULTS

This position offers annual earning potential of $175,000–$225,000+, with significant additional upside tied to unit volume, gross profit, and customer satisfaction performance. Exceptional leadership and measurable results will be recognized and rewarded.

THE LEADERSHIP MANDATE

The General Sales Manager will take an active role in the daily execution and long-term development of the dealership’s new and pre-owned sales operations. Key responsibilities include:

· Leading, coaching, and developing the sales management and sales teams.
· Driving new and pre-owned unit volume, gross profit, and market performance.
· Structuring and closing transactions while protecting profitability.
· Managing inventory strategy, pricing, aging, and turn.
· Partnering with F&I to maximize performance and maintain compliant processes.
· Developing productive relationships with lenders and financial partners.
· Forecasting results and tracking performance against monthly and annual objectives.
· Recruiting, training, and retaining high-caliber automotive professionals.
· Maintaining manufacturer standards for sales and customer satisfaction.
· Ensuring every client receives a polished, transparent, and premium experience.

THE EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

This opportunity is intended exclusively for an experienced high-line automotive sales leader with a documented record of success.

Qualified candidates will possess:

· A minimum of five years of General Sales Manager experience with a high-line or luxury automotive dealership.
· Advanced knowledge of dealership sales, desking, inventory, finance, and lender processes.
· A proven ability to increase unit volume, gross profit, and customer satisfaction.
· Strong recruiting, coaching, accountability, and team-development skills.
· Excellent financial judgment and a disciplined, data-driven management style.
· Executive-level communication and decision-making abilities.
· The professionalism and customer-first mindset expected in a luxury retail environment.
· Candidates without the required high-line or luxury General Sales Manager experience will not be considered.
