Overview
Join the Fields of Dreams team as an Office/Accounting Assistant and play an important role in supporting the daily financial and administrative operations of New Mexico’s leading vertically integrated cannabis dispensary. This entry-level position is ideal for someone eager to grow their skills in bookkeeping, recordkeeping, and general office administration within a fast-paced, innovative industry. You will assist with organizing financial documents, updating accounting records, processing invoices, and helping prepare basic financial reports. If you're detail-oriented, motivated, and excited to build a career in finance or administration within the cannabis space, this is the perfect opportunity to get started.

Duties

Assist with updating and maintaining financial records, including invoices, receipts, purchase orders, vendor statements, and internal billing documentation.
Help prepare basic financial reports and summaries for management under the guidance of senior accounting staff.
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes by entering data, tracking payments, verifying invoices, and following up with vendors as needed.
Perform basic account and bank reconciliations to ensure accurate and up-to-date financial information.
Assist with month-end procedures, including organizing documents, verifying numbers, and preparing journal entry support.
Maintain organized and confidential filing systems for both digital and physical financial and administrative documents.
Help gather data, create spreadsheets, and support budgeting and forecasting tasks as assigned.
Assist with internal audit preparation and compliance documentation related to state cannabis regulations.
Provide general office support, such as answering phones, scheduling, managing office supplies, and assisting management with administrative tasks.

Experience

Some experience in an office, administrative, or finance setting is preferred—we are willing to train the right candidate.
Familiarity with accounting or office software (QuickBooks, Excel, Xero, or similar) is a big plus.
Basic understanding of bookkeeping concepts, including expenses, invoices, and account balances.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new software, tools, and internal processes.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments.
Interest in growing within accounting, administration, or the cannabis industry is highly valued.
College students pursuing Finance, Accounting, or related majors are highly encouraged to apply.
