Electrical Service Office Manager – Streamline Operations and Support Growth for B&M Electric

Job Overview

Compensation: Starting at approximately $34.00 per hour, depending on experience

Schedule: Monday–Friday; exact hours to be confirmed during the interview process

The Opportunity

B&M Electric is hiring an experienced Electrical Service Office Manager to help lead the accounting, administrative, payroll, human-resources, and operational functions of a growing residential electrical service company.

This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys creating structure, improving systems, solving operational problems, and supporting both field technicians and company leadership. The role will work primarily from B&M Electric’s Lawndale office, with occasional responsibilities at the Torrance location.

The ideal candidate has strong accounting or bookkeeping experience, understands service-business operations, and is capable of improving procedures rather than waiting to be directed through every task. Experience with ServiceTitan and a residential service contractor is strongly preferred.

What You Will Do

Accounting and Financial Administration
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Review vendor invoices and supporting documentation.
Organize receipts, bank documents, invoices, and transaction records.
Assist with customer billing and collection follow-up.
Support bookkeeping, account reconciliation, and financial record organization.
Maintain accurate and confidential accounting documentation.
Coordinate with company leadership and external accounting professionals as needed.
Payroll and Human Resources
Review technician hours, time records, and payroll documentation.
Assist with weekly payroll processing.
Support the calculation and documentation of technician performance bonuses.
Maintain employee records and onboarding documentation.
Assist with basic HR administration, employee communication, and policy documentation.
Maintain confidentiality when handling payroll, employee, and financial information.
Office and Operational Management
Use ServiceTitan to support operational reporting, technician records, customer documentation, and workflow management.
Help keep field technicians organized and accountable for documentation, hours, materials, and assigned tasks.
Coordinate communication among leadership, office employees, field technicians, customers, and vendors.
Assist with inventory tracking, supply ordering, and material organization.
Receive deliveries and help maintain an organized office and storage environment.
Assist with permit applications, inspection scheduling, and related city or municipal documentation.
Coordinate company-vehicle errands, material pickups, or deliveries when needed.
Assist with setup and organization of the new Lawndale office.
Identify inefficient processes and recommend practical improvements.
Create, document, and maintain standard operating procedures.
Help build repeatable systems that support company growth.

Required Qualifications

At least 3 years of office management, bookkeeping, accounting, or operations experience.
Must have 1+ years experience with ServiceTitan software.
Must have 1+ years experience specifically in the residential home service industry.
Hands-on experience with accounting and bookkeeping responsibilities.
Experience processing or supporting payroll.
Ability to organize receipts, invoices, bank documents, and financial records.
Must have strong, professional experience and knowledge using ServiceTitan.
Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and general computer skills.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and responsibilities with limited supervision.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to protect confidential employee, customer, and financial information.
Ability to create and improve office systems and procedures.
Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a company vehicle between locations when required.
Ability to lift and move office supplies, files, deliveries, or equipment weighing up to approximately 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Strongly Preferred Qualifications

Experience working for an electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or other home-service contractor.
Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and reconciliation.
1+ year experience with Housecall Pro and Jobber softwares.
Experience reviewing technician payroll or performance-based compensation.
Experience coordinating permits and inspections.
Experience creating standard operating procedures.
Experience supporting field-service technicians and multiple office locations.
Familiarity with inventory and vendor-management processes.

What Success Looks Like

Payroll and accounting documentation are accurate and completed on time.
Receipts, invoices, bank records, and billing documents are consistently organized.
Technicians receive timely operational support and remain accountable for required documentation.
Permits and inspections are scheduled and tracked without avoidable delays.
Office procedures are documented and followed.
Leadership receives reliable information and does not need to repeatedly follow up on routine administrative tasks.
The new Lawndale office becomes organized, functional, and supported by repeatable systems.

Compensation and Benefits

Starting compensation of approximately $34.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
