Overview

Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Emergency Room Registered Nurse, where your expertise will be vital in delivering high-quality, urgent care to diverse patient populations. As an ER RN, you will be at the forefront of emergency medicine, providing critical interventions and ensuring swift, effective treatment for patients experiencing acute health crises. Your dedication will directly impact patient outcomes in a fast-paced, collaborative setting committed to excellence and innovation.

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history, and physical examinations to determine urgency and prioritize care.
Administer medications and injections accurately, including IV infusions and medication management tailored to individual patient needs.
Utilize advanced EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for precise documentation of patient care activities.
Execute critical procedures such as suturing, airway management, catheterization, and sterile technique to stabilize patients effectively.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for diagnostic evaluations including laboratory testing and medical imaging like CT scans or sonography.
Manage acute pain and trauma cases within a Level I or Level II trauma center environment, ensuring adherence to trauma medicine protocols.
Conduct triage assessments to determine patient priority levels accurately and expedite care for those with life-threatening conditions.
Support patients with complex needs such as infectious disease care, behavioral health issues, or those requiring hospice & palliative medicine services.
Educate patients and families on treatment plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care to promote recovery and well-being.

Requirements

Valid RN license in good standing with current state registration.
Proven ER or emergency medicine experience in a hospital setting; Level I or Level II trauma center experience preferred.
Critical care experience including ICU or PICU is highly desirable; familiarity with trauma medicine is essential.
Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth; experience with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding is a plus.
Strong clinical skills in procedures like IV insertion, phlebotomy, ventilator management, and aseptic technique.
Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to emergency medicine.
Ability to handle high-pressure situations efficiently while maintaining compassionate patient care standards.
Additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), or Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) are advantageous.
Experience working with diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, individuals with disabilities or developmental disorders is preferred.
