Description

American Traveler is hiring a Sleep Lab Technologist / Polysomnographer to perform and score diagnostic sleep studies, requiring RPSGT, RRT-SDS, or CRT-SDS credentialing.

Details

Work in a hospital-based sleep diagnostic center
Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with no weekends or holidays
Utilizes polysomnography (PSG) equipment and electronic health record (EHR) systems
13-week assignment at 40 hours per week

Requirements

RPSGT, RRT-SDS, or CRT-SDS credential required
BLS required, or must be obtained within 90 days of hire
License required if applicable
High school diploma or GED required
Certificate or associate's degree in polysomnography or respiratory therapy preferred
Less than one year of job-related experience required
Strong knowledge of sleep physiology, sleep disorders, and diagnostic criteria
Proficiency in sleep study software, PSG equipment, and EHR systems

Additional Information

Record and analyze physiological data during sleep studies including EEG, EMG, ECG, and respiratory parameters
Score sleep stages, respiratory events, and other physiological data using AASM scoring criteria
Generate comprehensive sleep study reports summarizing findings and recommendations for clinical management
Collaborate with sleep physicians and other healthcare providers to communicate results and support patient care decisions
Assist with patient setup and preparation for sleep studies, ensuring comfort and safety
Educate patients on sleep study procedures and equipment to reduce anxiety and encourage cooperation
Participate in quality assurance activities such as inter-scorer reliability checks and peer review sessions
Troubleshoot technical issues or equipment malfunctions related to sleep study data acquisition
