Full Job Description

Downey Brand is seeking an experienced Litigation Secretary to join our litigation team. This role provides critical administrative support to attorneys and plays an integral part in ensuring matters are handled efficiently and accurately. We are looking for someone who is proactive, dependable, and committed to delivering exceptional work in a collaborative, client-focused environment.

Required Skills

Minimum of 5 years of litigation secretarial experience
Thorough knowledge of California state and federal court rules, procedures, and filing deadlines
Experience preparing and filing electronic and paper court filings
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, document management and time entry.
Excellent organizational, file management, and proofreading skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively as part of a team
Professional demeanor with the ability to build positive relationships with attorneys, clients, staff, and outside vendors
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of client and firm information
Strong work ethic with dependable attendance and punctuality
Positive attitude, sound judgment, and the ability to prioritize competing demands

Downey Brand offers a hybrid work environment, allowing remote work flexibility up to 2 days a week. The salary range for this position is $45 - $50 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Below is a list of some of the other benefits the company provides:
