Human Resource Specialist - Benefits

As a Specialist, you'll serve as a trusted resource for employees, helping them navigate their benefits throughout every stage of employment. From new hire enrollments and qualifying life events to leave administration and employee education, you'll play a key role in delivering an exceptional employee experience.

What You'll Do

Administer employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, HSA, FSA, and other company-sponsored benefit programs.
Assist employees with benefit enrollments, qualifying life events, eligibility questions, and benefit changes.
Coordinate and process new hire benefit enrollments and ensure timely completion of required documentation.
Plan, coordinate, and execute the annual Open Enrollment process, including employee communications, education sessions, enrollment support, system testing, and post-enrollment reconciliation.
Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefit questions while providing outstanding customer service.
Maintain accurate benefit records within ADP and other HR systems.
Complete monthly benefit reconciliations and partner with Payroll to ensure benefit deductions are accurate and timely.
Coordinate with benefit carriers and vendors to resolve eligibility, enrollment, and billing issues.
Assist with the administration of leave programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, personal leaves, and other protected leave processes.
Prepare employee communications, benefit guides, and educational materials.
Support wellness initiatives and employee engagement programs related to benefits.
Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state regulations, including ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, and FMLA.
Assist with audits, reporting, and special HR projects as assigned.

What We're Looking For

Prior experience in a Benefits Administration or Human Resources role with a strong focus on employee benefits required.
Demonstrated experience planning, coordinating, and executing an annual Open Enrollment process from start to finish.
Strong knowledge of employee benefits, leave administration, and HR best practices.
Experience administering medical, dental, vision, HSA, FSA, COBRA, ACA, and other employer-sponsored benefit programs.
Experience with HRIS systems; ADP Workforce Now experience is strongly preferred.
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to explain complex benefit information in an easy-to-understand manner.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with professionalism.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
